Amazon’s thriller “Malice” attempts to explore the dark and complex lives of the ultra-rich but ultimately fails to deliver a compelling narrative. Set amidst luxurious settings and steeped in secrets, the story revolves around a wealthy family whose world begins to crumble after the arrival of a charming nanny played by Jack Whitehall. Whitehall’s deceptive charm gradually wins the family’s trust, only to systematically dismantle their happiness.
David Duchovny, known for his captivating screen presence, leads the cast with a strong performance. His character brings much-needed weight to the film; however, the script’s flaws and the slow pacing diminish the effect of his talent.
